Awards Banquet

Each year, the Arlington Police Department hosts the Annual Awards Banquet, an awards ceremony to recognize the dedication and impressive achievements of police employees and the department’s community and business partners. Although all members of the department are hard-working individuals who are committed to providing excellent service dedicated to their community, each year’s honorees – both nominees and award recipients – are deserving of special recognition as they went above and beyond the call of duty to serve the citizens of Arlington.

The Annual Awards Banquet is named for John V. McMillan, a Tarrant county businessman and philanthropist who established a tradition of giving back. Mr. McMillan was a founding member of the Fort Worth Police Officers’ Award Foundation. He died in 2001, but he shared his passion for family and community with his daughter, Jeri McMillan Anfin, who sponsored the awards program until her passing in 2007.
